The Cairn
The Cairn on the west side of the Memorial Arch, lists the following veterans who died in WWI (1914-1918). Twenty one names are listed. The inscription at the top PRO PATRIA MORI comes from the line by Horace, “Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori” that translates roughly to “It is sweet and proper to die for one's country”.

For our friends, which are not on the Internet, the pages have been printed and put in two binders. One is available for viewing at the West Vancouver Memorial Library and the other copy is available in the Lounge at Branch 60.
