Bursaries & Scholarships 2008

This year Branch 60 is offering:

  • Two $2,500.00 Bursaries plus the Jean Coull Bursary
  • Two $2,500.00 Scholarships

Bursaries are based on the applicant’s financial need. Bursaries are offered to students entering a University or equivalent institute of higher learning, such as a technical or vocational institute, involving training for which high school graduation is a prerequisite. Students must attend two consecutive seminars beginning in the fall and carry a full course load (by student loan definition).

Bursary awards give primary consideration to the family's financial need. Although other applicants will be considered, preference is given to children and grandchildren of Veterans and ex-service personal that served in Canadian or British Commonwealth Forces.

Must be a student or a resident in West Vancouver and a Canadian Citizen at time of Bursary application. Applications must be received on or before May 31st, 2008.

This Scholarship is open to students who are residents of West Vancouver and are intending to enter a University, College, Vocational or Trade School this fall. The student must be a Canadian Citizen at the time of Scholarship application. Applications must be received on or before May 31st, 2008.

The applicant must be a Canadian citizen at the time of making the application, a high school graduate and the child or grandchild of a Veteran or ex-service personnel who served in the Canadian Armed Forces and is a member or former member of one of the 3 North Shore branches of The Royal Canadian Legion.

Eligible applicants are individuals entering their second or subsequent year of University or their first or subsequent year of technical or vocational school. Primary consideration will be given to applicants in financial need.

All applications in the required form and with the necessary supporting information must be filed by May 31, 2008 and applicants should be willing to attend an interview at a mutually agreed time and place.

The bursary will be paid directly by the Branch to the institution chosen by the successful applicant.
